My book recommendation is “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.” It is about a poor family and a very poor village. Minli is a Chinese girl.

Listening for Lions is about, a girl who is 11 and her mother is a teacher, and
a nurse. Her father is a doctor. Their home is right across the street from the
hospital. When she was just about to turn twelve influenza came. Then one day,
the Prichard’s came and there little girl Valerie had influenza and died. The Prichard’s
where devastated. The Prichard’s lived right across the street from the doctors
and nurses in the hospital. Next, the influenza killed her mother and father. Now,
she was devastated. She now had to live with the Prichard’s. When she got there
all the Prichard’s did to her was treat her like she was their own daughter,
but in the bad way. Then one day, they shipped her off to England to visit her
fake grandfather. From that day on she finally felt like she was in a family
since her mom and dad died. The next day, her fake grandfather new who she
really was and decided to save her, and help her, and adopt her. So, pick up
the book at the library to find out what happens to Rachel/Valerie.

The Book spotlight for this week is The Strange Case of Origami Yoda. The Strange Case of Origami Yoda is about a boy and his friends and there trying to find out if Origami Yoda is real. He gives excellent advice but he’s carried around and spoke for by the nerdiest kid in school. Also, half the kids in school think that Origami Yoda is just a big wad of paper. So, their resources are limited down to like 30 kids. Then they figure out they need to have both sides’ opinion, but will they figure out if Origami Yoda is real or not?
